SUMMER CAMP SUPERLATIVES by Scoutmaster Jeff Carter -- We had rain pretty much for the first 3 ½ days. I began to wonder if we would all win the Noah’s Arc Merit Badge. We had several people recognized at Camp Tahuaya for their accomplishments during the week. In all of the Merit Badge classes, the instructors picked the Scout that was the most outstanding for the week. Here are the awards for that recognition. Abi – Environmental Science, Ryan M. – Baden Powell Robert – Soil & Water Conservation, Kevin – Canoeing, Ben – First Aid, Joe – Wilderness Survival and Fish and Wildlife Management (Important to note that this was the first time in 10 years a Scout was recognized for 2 classes.), Jeffrey and Jon – Mile Swim, Dick Cureton – Mile Swim, Jeff Carter – BSA Lifeguard. We also had several Scouts and one Adult earn the Wrangler Award at camp. They are as follows: Joe, Caleb, Tim, Jeffrey, Ryan B, and Kevin
