Everyone,
The troop will not be meeting on Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial
Day. Have a great time with your family and for those of you traveling,
having a safe trip. We will meet again on Monday, June 7.
Monday, June 7, is also the deadline for turning in medical forms for
summer camp and Philmont. We need someone to accept the forms and
keep track of who has turned theirs in. Any volunteers?
Tuesday, June 4, is the deadline to add or remove yourself from the
ZIP Line event in Canton, TX. The cost is $50 per participating person; no
charge for adults that drive only.
The scouts are planning a campout to work on the rowing and canoeing merit
badges. However, we don't currently have a counselor signed up for either
of those. The counselor will need to teach the classroom part on July 12,
August 2 and August 9. The campout out is in August and before you worry about
the heat, we will be staying in Lakeview Lodge with Air Conditioning.
If you have skills in this area and would like to
help, please let me know. Existing merit badge counselors just need to fill
out an updated counselor form. New counselors will also need to fill out
a BSA Adult application. The position is free. There are also new merit badges
for Geocaching, SCUBA, and Scouting Heritage if anyone wants to pick those
up. Some may not be officially released yet, but should be soon. Robotics
should be out later this year from what I understand.
