Everyone,
We are coming down to the wire on the Canoe race. Tomorrow is the last day to
sign up and get the early registration price. I know that we have an large
number of guys finishing up training this weekend, which is great, but we need
one more adult to be go on the canoe trip to be able to attend. Think about it
and if you can make it, I can add folks until 8:00 AM in the morning. If we
don't have any other signups we will have to wait until the Fall race. If we
do get another adult, I will register with the council during lunch.
There is a service opportunity on Sunday, May 16, 2010, for those that need
some hours. The Colleyville Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Live and Silent
Auction to promote business in our area. The event will take place at the
Grapevine Convention Center. They could use about 5 boys to help in each of
these time periods; 9:00 AM - noon, 5:00 - 7:30 PM and 7:30 - 10:00 PM. The
jobs would include watching the doors, breaking down rooms after the auction,
picking up trash, helping to load cars with auction items, sweeping and clean
up. If you are interested, please send me a note and I will forward it to
Mrs. Procaccino.
Due to changes in National policy, Eagle Board of Review will now be conducted
at our meeting location with our adults. Any adult that understands the importance
of the rank of Eagle are eligible to sit on the board, with the except of the
candidates family members and Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. If you would
like to have your name on a list as a possible board member, please send me
a note and I will add you to an email distribution list. When a board needs to
be scheduled, I will send a note out requesting volunteers for that particular board.
The boards are very similar to other rank advancement boards except there is a
project to cover. It will be chaired by someone from the district that is not
a member of our troop. Most of these should take place during the normal
Monday night meeting time.
For those that are interested in helping the troop in some way, Mrs. Barker created
a document describing the positions for adults to help out. I have posted
