Everyone,

Just a reminder that it is tax day! Also, tonight is the swim check at the GCISD swim center. The map is on the calendar entry. Please be there at 7:30 PM and bring $1 per person along with your swim suit, goggles and towel. There should be time to work on the swimming and water safety rank advancement items for Second and First Class. The swim check is required for anyone that is planning on swimming at summer camp or participating in the canoes races or the troop rowing/canoeing campout in August.

Speaking of the canoe race. The next one is schedule for next Saturday, April 24. I know that we have a number of folks that are attending training next weekend, so we may not have enough adults for the event. I will also not be able to make it. If you are planning on going, we need a sign up sheet filled in by Sunday afternoon. We have to register with the district on Monday for the event.

Be sure to get the balance of your summer camp fees paid and your merit badge selection made by Monday. I will be sending in the roster of attendees and their merit badge selection early next week. As a reminder, the new Annual Health form is only good for 1 year. All those going to summer camp need to plan ahead and get a physical. For those who haven't done this before, most doctor's offices treat the Boy Scout physical as a sports physical and charge a fee of around $25. The health form is due June 7.

The next meeting will be to work on Morse Code for the Signaller merit badge. Has anyone been working on learning code using the online link I sent out before? There will be a meeting for the Philmont Crew the same night to select a crew leader.
