Everyone,
The ZIP line activity for this Saturday has been postponed due to a number of
participants being involved in the playoff football game this weekend. It will
be scheduled for another date, but the date hasn't been chosen at this time.
The popcorn pickup for those that sold popcorn this year has been moved from Sunday to
Monday, November 16, 2009. This will be at the at the church during the normal
meeting time. Popcorn money will still be due by Monday, December 7.
There will be a parent's meeting on Monday, November 16. This meeting will be to
discuss simple ways parents can get involved to help out the boys. Snacks will
be served.
If you are planning on attending the Laser Quest lock in coming up in December,
please sign up soon. 30 scouts and some adults are needed to make the event happen.
Sea Scouts / Venture Crew Interest Meeting
On Monday, December 7, there will be a meeting to determine the scout and adult
interest in starting a Sea Scout Ship and/or a Venture Crew. This meeting will
take place during the normal troop meeting. The minimum requirements to join Venturing
is 14 years old and completed the 8th grade, however, those that are currently in the 8th grade
are also welcome to come to this meeting since they will be eligible in a few months.
All those that would like to learn about these programs are encouraged to come to the
meeting. It is recommended that a parent come with the scouts. If you have any friends
that might also be interested, you are welcome to bring them with you. I believe we already
have an adult female adviser, so this unit can also be co-ed.
