Everyone,
I hope everyone had a great time at the court of honor last Thursday. If you
couldn't make it, you missed some good food and a lot of awards. Thanks to
Dominic Procaccino for doing an awesome job as master of ceremonies! I
think Mr. Barker had writers cramp from filling out all the awards. Keep it
up, he loves to see you earn lots of awards.
I received an email message from Vince Dorsey. The annual Aviation Merit Badge
at Alliance Airport is being offered again this year. This is a two day merit
badge and it a lot of fun. The first day will be all classroom in the hangar
at Alliance, and the second part will be to attend the air show 2 weeks later.
Both parts have to be attended to complete this merit badge. The classroom part
will be on Saturday, October 10, from 8:45 AM to 2:00 PM. The air show is on
Saturday, October 24, with the merit badge presentation at 4:00 PM. In the
past they have provided free parking and air show tickets to the scouts and
families. Scouts that want to work on the merit badge will have to get a blue
card from Mr. Barker or Mr. Jordan and will need to coordinate their own
transportation. There is only space for 30 scouts, so you will need to contact
Mr. Dorsey very soon if you would like to attend. His contact information will be
at the top of the email version of this message. See also, the email attached
document. Alliance airport is on I-35, north
of Fort Worth between Hwy 170 and Hwy 114, about 20 minutes from our meeting location.
We have a normal meeting tonight at 7:00 PM. Please give a warm welcome to our
Webelos visitors that are scheduled to be there tonight.
Popcorn sales have begun! If you have not received an order form and price selection
form, please see Mr. Glen. There is an online version this year to use to sell popcorn
to those family members that are not in the area. The online selections are a little
different from the take order form, so you may want to offer out-of-town folks both
options, especially if you plan on seeing them over the Christmas holiday break when you
can hand deliver the order.
