Everyone,
Sorry for sending this note out so soon after the last one, but a new item came in.
We will be having a number of Webelos (about 6 - 8) bridging over tomorrow evening. There
is a sign up sheet and map on the calendar. We don't need the whole troop, but could use 4 - 6 scouts
there to receive the new scouts into the troop. This is a great way to earn one hour of
service and/or to count as a non-troop meeting night activity needed for 2nd and 1st Class
scout ranks. Please sign up if you can attend. Plan to arrive at Camp Burnett by 6:45 PM
As a reminder, Day Light Savings Time starts this Sunday, March 8, 2009, at 2:00 AM. Be sure
to set your clock forward. Don't worry, you only loose one hour of sleep.
The Court of Honor is Monday, March 9, 2009. For those that signed up for
dinner, it will start
at 6:00 PM. The ceremony is open to all, even if you didn't sign up for dinner, and it will
start at 7:00 PM. The court of honor will be off site this time and will be at Joe's Pasta & Pizza
which is located at 3809 Colleyville Blvd in Colleyville. There is a link to the map on the
calendar entry. Their phone number is 817-428-2332 if you need to reach them.
We will be off on Monday, March 16, 2009, due to Spring Break. Enjoy the week off and have safe
travels if you are leaving town. We will meet again on Monday, March 23, 2009.
For the scouts working on Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class or 1st Class, that would like help
in deciding what they should be working on, or would like to get a requirement signed off, please
bring me your Boy Scout Handbook at any meeting and I will see what I can do to get you
moving along. We would like to see scouts reach the rank of 1st Class in about a year. I know that
we have not met that goal for some of the scouts in the last few patrols that have joined the troop
and I want to get them moving along. Obviously, some requirements can only be completed on a
campout but there are a number we can work on at the troop meetings and we can plan ahead for the
campouts.
