Everyone,
Here are a couple of items for you:
Popcorn sales begin tomorrow, Saturday, September 20, 2008. If you need a form, please
see Mr. Ian Glen.
J. Lippert's Eagle project that was rescheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2008 has been rescheduled
again for Sunday, September 28, 2008. This was because everyone is returning from the Leadership
Campout on the 21st.
Aluminum can recycling begins. We are going to try a new fund raiser. Please have your scouts, rinse and crush
aluminum cans. Once a trash bag is full, bring it to a Monday meeting and we will store them in smaller
troop trailer. Feel free to get cans from your neighbors too. But please crush them so we can store more
in less space. We will cash them in a few times and see if it is worth continuing. I think most of
us are just putting them out by the curb for someone else to cash in, so we might as well help
the troop.
Just so you can plan, the recharter fees for 2009 will be $75/scout. This includes about $28 for the
council for dues, insurance, and Boy Life and the rest is for troop equipment. These dues will need to be
in by about November 1, 2008. We can sure take them early. If someone has time and would like to collect
the dues and contact those who haven't turned any in towards the end of October, that would be great. I
can still do the recharter stuff in the computer.
